E.S.C. Coatings' Grain-Filler, a water-based solution, fills wood grain lines, preventing a smooth finish. It can be used clear or tinted with E.S.C. stains, dyes, or water-based colorants. Proper application is crucial; sand off surface filler, leaving only deep grain filler. Apply using a squeegee at a 45-degree angle, dry for 45-75 minutes, then sand. For very open-grained wood, a second application may be needed. It dries to sand in under an hour at 75F, allowing immediate recoating. Clean equipment with water after use.
