These knife-thread solid brass threaded inserts are designed to be installed in either hard or soft wood, plywood or composites and will receive machine screws or connecting bolts. These inserts are ideal for furniture or fixtures wherever parts need to be assembled and disassembled that could lead to threads stripping. They are ideal for knockdown furniture. These threaded inserts use an external knife thread that slices into wood providing optimal holding power. Pilot hole size is 27/64 inch for hardwoods and 13/32 inch for softwoods. Drilling hole size requirements may vary depending on wood species and insertions tools used. It is strongly recommended that test holes be drilled in scrap and inserts tested before drilling finished parts. Easily installs using a T-wrench, bolt with a jam nut or a dedicated drive insertion tool. To increase pull out strength, install inserts 1/4 inch below the surface. Made from solid brass which protects against corrosion.
